Summary Description

The project will consist of four major activities:

  • characterize Lvivъs sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and other air pollutants
  • assist Lviv policy-makers in developing specific policy recommendations for reducing Ghgs and other pollutants in the region in the various economic sectors (energy, industry, agriculture, etc.)
  • identify several candidate projects and develop formal memoranda describing the projects' expected costs and potential for GHG emissions reductions
  • conduct informal workshops or seminars for regional policy-makers, journalists, and the public on the science and potential impacts of climate change, the UNFCCC process (including the importance of GHG inventories), and potential economic, environmental, and health-related benefits associated with reducing GHG emissions
