National Conference on Climate Change
27 – 28 February 2003

The Climate Change Initiative, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Ngos’ Working Group on climate change invite your active participation in the National Conference on Climate Change to be held in Kyiv on February 27 – 28, 2003 at the House of Scientists of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine at: 45a, Volodymyrska Str., Kyiv. The Conference is funded by the US Agency for International Development.
The Conference will consider the following issues:
- the participation of Ukraine in the international negotiations;
- the state of fulfillment by Ukraine of its commitments under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change;
- advantages and impacts of the Kyoto Protocol ratification by Ukraine;
- national and regional climate change action plans
The Conference will include plenary and breakout sessions. The representatives of GOU, businessmen and scientists, industrialists, Ngos and international agencies and organizations will participate in the Conference. The participants will have an opportunity to express their views on the participation of Ukraine in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol ratification by Ukraine and to discuss the national and regional climate change action plans. The Conference objective is to reach а consensus in addressing the climate change issues.
The Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee is Stepan O. Lysun, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine State Secretary First Deputy.
